We, at Nile, are excited to announce that Gartner has named Nile for NaaS in the 2022 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Enterprise Wired and Wireless LAN Infrastructure. This marks the first year Gartner has dedicated a separate section solely on the emergence of Network as a Service (NaaS).

Nile’s story began with a complete ground-up build of the campus network. To design, architect, and deliver a network untethered from the bounds of legacy architecture. To boldly design a campus network that extends the benefits of IaaS and cloud adoption into the LAN environment. One that pivots the network experience away from speeds, feeds, and capex requirements to outcome-focused performance-driven service delivery.

Today’s NaaS solutions were a good attempt to address the goal of simplifying network consumption. Yet, with the burden of over 30 years of layered architectures, that’s not a simple feat. As a result, today’s vendors are reconciled to bundling existing solutions and services in the attempt to hide the complexity that is today’s networks. As Gartner mentions in the Magic Quadrant, “legacy network equipment vendors are struggling to deliver NaaS to market beyond simply a managed services and leasing model.” It should be noted that Nile is the only vendor mentioned in the Network as a Service section outlining Gartner’s industry definition of NaaS.

Nile has spent over 4 years developing an entirely new campus network. The result is the true definition what NaaS should be. A network that is simply and holistically consumed in an OpEx-based pay-per-user model that enables the ability to both scale up and scale down as needed. A network that is focused on performance outcomes and commits to stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that are backed by billing. A network the completely offloads tactical Day 0 to Day N operations, allowing IT to truly focus on driving business value with digital transformation. A network that is engineered around the principles of zero trust to actually perpetually protect against today’s malicious attacks.

And this was no simple feat. Under the hood of the Nile Access Service is technical innovation that provides the ability to deliver today’s NaaS. We design, engineer, deliver and install our own access points, sensors, and access/distribution switches. Today’s networks simply cannot be built on yesterday’s architectures. As such, Nile took a clean slate approach to campus network design and eliminated what was functional 30 years ago but simply is not needed in today’s cloud-adopted campus networks. We have embedded deep instrumentation across every aspect of the network. There is no feature that does not also have the instrumentation behind it to monitor performance. We have AI-driven softbots in the cloud constantly analyzing this instrumentation-drive data, constantly self-tuning network performance, and never in a position to “wait until it breaks.” This is the foundation of how Nile is able to transform the enterprise campus network experience with NaaS.

We are honored at to be recognized by Gartner. Read the report or come learn about Nile’s Access Service.
